Producers’ Lab

Producers play a vital role in documentary filmmaking, overseeing project development, production planning, financing strategies, and international collaboration. CNEX Academy – Producers’ Lab invites producers with documentary projects currently in production to participate in an intensive workshop with international mentors and industry professionals.

This year’s lab brings together four internationally recognized producers and industry professionals—Mandy Chang, Bob Moore, Chris Humphrey, and Rachel Wexler. Drawing on their extensive experience across the international documentary landscape, they will work closely with selected teams through one-on-one mentoring and in-depth discussions, helping participants evaluate their projects from a broader perspective and identify new possibilities for future development.

Through close exchanges with mentors, the lab aims to help producers reassess their project strategies, strengthen production planning, and explore opportunities for international collaboration and future distribution.

Selected participants will take part in one-on-one consultations, project discussions, case studies, and panel sessions addressing key aspects of documentary production, including development, financing, and market strategies.

Participation in the workshop is free.
