CNEX is committed to propelling Chinese documentary filmmakers onto the international stage and bringing international production experiences to Taiwan. With this vision in mind, since 2010, CNEX has been organizing the "CCDF - CNEX Chinese Documentary Forum" annually. In 2011, CNEX also introduced the "CNEX Doc Academy," which includes project conference observations, special lectures, masterclasses, film screenings, and more. These activities run concurrently with the CCDF, aiming to provide documentary talents and the general public with more nourishment.
In addition to the "CCDF - CNEX Chinese Documentary Forum" this year, in order to assist documentary filmmakers in enhancing the impact of their works, we continue to introduce the "Investing for Good" session. This session focuses on selecting documentaries that address social issues aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as rural education, environmental sustainability, disability rights, and housing justice. These selected documentaries will participate in “Investing For Good” session, where NGOs, corporate groups, policy makers, media, and international documentary filmmakers who are committed to these issues will be invited to engage in discussions. This collaborative effort aims to ignite the most significant sparks, contribute to society, and assist documentary works in making a meaningful impact.
Upon successful registration, participants will have the opportunity to attend all courses and activities at the CNEX Documentary Academy during the event period, including: a 1-day documentary impact investment session, a 3-day international documentary project observation, 8 special lectures & masterclasses, and 9 documentary screenings. Over 50 international professionals from the documentary industry will be present, providing a valuable platform for networking and exchanging ideas.
